Project Description
Studio One provided architectural services for sixteen new teaching spaces at Wellington Girls' College, one of the capital's largest and most established secondary schools. Delivered through offsite manufacture, the project brought factory-controlled quality and a compressed programme to a campus that never stops running. Designing at this scale within an operating school demands more than good classroom design.
Every decision, from layout and circulation through to staging, craneage, and access, has to respect the daily life of the school around it. The completed project delivers modern, flexible learning environments that lift teaching capacity significantly while sitting comfortably within the fabric of the existing campus. It stands as one of Studio One's largest education commissions to date and a demonstration of the practice's ability to deliver at volume without losing design quality.
