Project Description
Studio One is the architectural design lead for a 160-bed student accommodation development, delivered through modular construction and currently in progress. Repetition is where modular design either succeeds or fails, and at this scale every decision made in one room is made 160 times.
Studio One also led the design development of a working prototype, proving the room, its structure, services, and finishes as a physical build before manufacture at volume, so the lessons were learned once, early, rather than repeated across the whole development. The project represents Studio One’s largest accommodation commission to date and demonstrates the practice’s capability at the scale where modular delivery makes its strongest case: repeatable quality, compressed programme, and design certainty before the factory starts.
